Helping You to Move Well, Recover Confidently, and Live Fully

Jo is the founder of Physio Avenue and a registered HCPC (Health and Care Professions Council) and CSP (Chartered Society of Physiotherapists) physiotherapist.

Jo’s journey into physiotherapy didn’t begin in a classroom, it began through lived experience, watching first-hand as both a patient and a parent how powerful compassionate, well-timed treatment can be. Not just for easing pain, but for restoring confidence, independence and hope.

While retraining as a mature student, Jo realised how working with clients in a way that focuses on treating the whole person, not just the injury, yields better outcomes. She also realised how the constraints of traditional healthcare can sometimes make appointments feel rushed or impersonal, leaving little time for reflection, planning or truly personalised care.

She created Physio Avenue to do things differently – a calm, unhurried space where clients have the time to understand their bodies, ask questions and build a plan that works for them.

Jo’s approach brings together hands-on physiotherapy, guided exercise and education, with a particular focus on supporting people in midlife and beyond to move freely, recover confidently and stay active and independent for the long term. Whether managing a musculoskeletal condition, preparing for or recovering from surgery, or simply wanting to feel stronger in everyday life, Jo works with each client to find an approach that’s realistic, sustainable and built around their goals.

Outside of Physio Avenue, Jo is a mum of two teenagers and a cockapoo. She enjoys cycling and does her best to practice what she preaches, by incorporating daily physio to manage her health in a proactive way.

Imi Testa

Soft Tissue Therapist

Supporting Your Recovery, Improving Your Movement, and Helping You Feel Your Best

Imi brings almost three decades of experience in bodywork and movement to her practice, with a clinical depth that sets her apart. After originally training as a beauty therapist, she went on to gain Level 3 and 4 Sports Massage qualifications through Team Bath at the University of Bath, before completing her Level 5 in Soft Tissue Therapy at the acclaimed Exmouth ST School in 2022. She is also a qualified Feldenkrais Method Practioner.

Imi works with a wide range of clients, from those managing chronic conditions, stress, and pain, to people who simply want to feel or move better and get back to doing what they love. Imi’s practice draws on a modern understanding of how touch, movement, and the nervous system interact. She takes a genuinely biopsychosocial approach, considering not just what is happening in the body, but the full picture of a person’s life, history, and goals.

Imi draws on skills and knowledge learned over the years to adapt each session to suit the client. That might mean focused soft tissue work to address tension or discomfort, supported movement to improve interoception and promote curiosity about habitual patterns, or a deeply restorative treatment to help you decompress and reconnect. Often, it’s a combination of all three.

Imi has contributed to the wider profession as an assistant tutor at The ST School in Exmouth, as a speaker at Therapy Expo, and as a guest on professional podcasts.

Outside the clinic, Imi has enjoyed endurance sports in the past but these days she’s more likely to be found on a shorter run with her dog or studying. In September she begins a degree in Occupational Therapy, a natural next step for a practitioner who has always believed that good care starts with truly understanding the whole person.
